Pedro Pío was born in Granada (Spain). He graduated in Documentary Filmmaking on the International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños, (EICTV) Cuba. He has written and directed several short films among which stand out:
“Maya”, nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival (France).
“The Girl of the Bus” film selected by the Short Film Corner in Cannes (France), received the awards for Best Picture, Best Director and Best actress in Bogota Short Film Festival (Colombia), won as Best film in Martil Film Festival (Morocco) and was Official Selection of Huesca Film Festival (Spain).

"JAURÍA", coproduced by Evidencia Films (Colombia), Les Films du Worso (France) and Momento Films (Suecia). Released in Clermont-Ferrand´s oficial selection (France), and broadcast in ARTE France.
Actually he just finished his first feature "El Gesto del Agua", which he has written, directed, photographed, edited and graded. At the same time, he devotes himself to a great passion, the world of photography and color grading.

All his work in cinema has common elements like the work with non actors and the mix of the real with fiction.
He also works in photography and color grading of still and moving images.​​
